Ono Masako

KUNDALINI – Th e human being is a miniature universe. One aspect is masculine, retains a static quality and remains identifi ed, while the other aspect is feminine, dynamic, energetic and creative. Th e feminine aspect is called KUNDALINI, which rests at the base of the spinal cord, then unites at the crown. Th e description of the Caduceus of Hermes is that the serpents represent positive and negative charges of KUNDALINI as it moves through the chakras and around the spine (the staff ) to the head where conscious perception occurs. It is this common concept between East and West that this Japanese practitioner of Odissi proposes to portray throught her performance at Th e Nehru Centre.
