A multi-media exhibition, In Court with Queen Victoria, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, uncovers the hidden histories of Victorian Britain. It focuses on the little known yet hugely significant relationship of Queen Victoria with two Indians from contrasting backgrounds, Maharajah Duleep Singh and Abdul Karim, during her reign 1837-1901

It features dramatisations that provide an engaging insight into Queen Victoria and her romance with India, without her ever setting foot on Indian soil.

The exhibition also features a series of exclusive interviews with historians and museum curators; Shrabani Basu, author of Victoria and Abdul, Julius Bryant, keeper of the V&A’s word and image collection, Michael Hunter, curator, Osborne House and Oliver Bone – curator Ancient House Museum, Thetford.

Speakers : Shrabani Basu, author of Victoria & Abdul, and Harbinder Singh Rana, Honorary Director, ASHT.
