Prof. Pamela Singh is a classical singer trained under Ustad Bhagwan Das of Patiala Gharana, Madan Bali and Prof. Yash Pal (Agra Gharana). Although, a contemporary of Jagjit Singh, she was inspired by the rich cadences of Malika Pukhraj’s musical legacy who was her neighbour during her childhood. The matchless Ghazals, renditions of Begum Akhtar were another source of inspiration. Her specialized fields of singing are Ghazal and Folk. Her first public performance was at the age of 14 at the Baisakhi music festival in Pathankot. She did her Sangeet Prabhakar degree at Allahabad University (1965) and her Masters in Vocal Music from GCG, Chandigarh (1966). In 1998, she received The Haryana State Award for Ghazals from the Prasar Bharti. She is an approved artiste of AIR Rohtak, Jalandhar and Delhi Doordarshan. She has also been a member of the Advisory and Planning committee Rohtak, Board of Studies-Punjab, Governing Body of NZCC and The Lalit Kala Academy.

She joined a professional theatre group “The Company” headed by Padamshri Dr. Neelam Mansingh as Lead singer (1985) and worked with the icon B V Karanth and represented India in major International Theatre Festivals at London, Tashkent, France, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Dubai and Lahore.
