The Schools: Bapu School, Chacha Nehru School, Qila School and Al Noor School. The Mission: Free Education for All - educating, empowering and enabling children in the slums of Delhi and Aligarh.

The Founder of Al Noor, Salma Ansari , wife of the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Hamid Ansari started the mission over 17 years ago. The defining moment was when she had seen a child drinking water from a most contaminated pond which contained dead rodents. From then on the mission started, the area was quite desperate, and she rode on horseback as it was impossible to reach the children and families using other transport. These children could not even think about what is education or even a chocolate as before Al Noor they struggled to find food and water.

Today Al Noor have over 2500 children 4 schools and an orphanage. Al Noor provides education, food, uniforms, books, health care and cultural and sport participation and recently established Al Noor UK Charity to support the Schools in India.
