The exhibition titled ‘Celebrating Hope-II’ focuses on emanating 'Hope' the very essence of life and victory in any endeavor. It reflects the journey within and without. Most of the paintings are oil on canvas and are visual responses born out of the intense two decades of silent communion with the philosophical writings. Some are also reminisces of my travel to different places. It celebrates the values of life such as hope, courage and optimism, symbolized through flags and elements of nature. Paintings are the outcome of the aspiration to establish the higher order within self and the viewers at large. They flag the significance of 'struggles', the very cause of 'victory' and ‘faith'. The lotus portrays different meanings in different paintings. In some, it signifies faith and purity, while in others happiness, comfort and luxury. I hear, the dry leaves whispering, a sweet melody full of positivity and values. The twists and turns of a dry leaf, its rough texture and tanned skin, to me are akin to elegant wrinkles of experiences on the portrait of life. They also seem to manifest hard work and perseverance. It's an effort to break the conventional negativity attached with the 'life's challenges' metaphorically shown as 'dry leaf’ and give it a new optimistic interpretation. The purpose would be achieved if any of the viewers get hope as I felt within.
