Based in Montreal, versatile artist Caroline Tabah is an author, screenwriter, filmmaker, concept designer, director, researcher, and photographer. Eager to share her love for the cinematographic richness and artistic culture of India, Caroline conceives and directs multidisciplinary events and founded the Montreal Indian film festival, Made in India, in 2008. Caroline also gives lectures and courses on the cinema of India. Her passion for India and its cinema led her to India in 2009, for an internship in film production on numerous film sets, due to the generosity of the great Indian actor Dr. Mohan Agashe.

In her words, “The photo exhibition, Lights of India, emerged from my quest for light, beauty and meaning, which inspires me to visit India, this country of a thousand and one contrasts. From Benares to Chidambaram, camera in hand, I captured images, these many bursts of light that I present accompanied by written short poetry. These photographs are open windows on the eternity of India, country of emotions and imagination, land of infinite possibilities.”

Presented in collaboration with the Pandit Ram Sahai Sangit Vidyalaya (PRSSV), this exhibition will be inaugurated with a tabla solo by Canadian tabla player Shawn Mativetsky, of the Benares Gharana, accompanied by PRSSV's Dr. Frances Shepherd on harmonium.
