A rising star on the horizons of the Indian Classical music, Deepa has spent nearly two decades pursuing Hindustani Vocal under the tutelage of esteemed Gurus including the Doyenne of Agra Gharana, Vidushi Smt. Lalith. J. Rao of Bengaluru, the senior disciple of Ustad Khadim Hussain Khan Saheb, Pandit Shrikrishna Babanrao Haldankar of Agra Gharana in Mumbai, Late Vidushi Smt. Veena Sahasrabuddhe of the Gwalior Gharana in Pune and Pandit Parameshwar Hegde of the Kirana-Patiala-Gwalior Gharanas in Bengaluru.

Endowed with a mellifluous and expressive voice, Deepa is appreciated for her keen sense of aesthetics and traditional nuances. Her raga explorations and Swar Vistaars typically showcase an authentic blend of various Gharanas that she has received Taleem under. A recipient of the prestigious SurSagar scholarship in Bengaluru, Deepa’s musical journey has been replete with many accolades and notable performances in India and abroad. Deepa was featured in the Youth Festival at All India Radio Bengaluru “Nava Pallava” where her performance was accompanied by Pandit Ravindra Yavagal. Her recital at the Annual Cultural event in Hyderabad performed under the auspices of Department of Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh elicited rave reviews from critics and connoisseurs alike.

Deepa has performed with her Guruma Vid Smt. Lalith. J. Rao in different cities for the musical show “Bhairav to Bhairavi” and “Agra Gharana Ek Vatavriksha” including the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Bengaluru) and NCPA (Mumbai). She is featured in the series “The Legacy Continues” released by Pragnya Music as one of the continuing torch-bearers of Agra Gharana. She is featured in the CD release of the rendition of Raga Bhavanishankar, composed by her Guruma Vidushi Smt. Lalith. J. Rao on the occasion of 300 years of Shri Chitrapur Math. Performing at the esteemed 11th Saraswat Sangeet Sammelan under KSA Mumbai, Deepa won enthusiastic reviews from Shri Prakash Burde, the famed critic of Hindustani music
