A vivacious art, Kuchipudi flourished as a devotional dance system during the upswing of Bhakti movement. One of the prominent proponents of Bhakti cult, Vaishnava Saint Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu advocated five forms of chief transcendental mellows experienced with the Supreme in his ‘Chaitanya Charitamrita’. The five modes of devotion are considered as a path to attain moksha. Sindhuja endeavours to interpret and showcase how this tradition is observed till date. She incorporates these elements into the solo repertoire of present-day Kuchipudi emphasizing on the dramatic, sattvika and technical aspects.

Sindhuja is a passionate practitioner of Kuchipudi with a dedicated and disciplined approach towards the art form. She works on applying readings from research in her practical presentations. With Masters Degree in both Kuchipudi and Carnatic vocal, she is presently pursuing her PhD from the Department of Dance, University of Hyderabad with a scholarship from UGC. A graded artist by Doordarshan for Kuchipudi, she has performed extensively to acclaim all over India. She established Sinjini School of Arts and trains enthusiasts in both the arts.
