The auditorium has a maximum capacity of 160 people. It is equipped with a laptop , DVD , VHS , overhead projector (OHP) , CD player, Slide Projector and cassette recorder.

We have two splendid exhibition halls, the Bharaiv and the Sarang exhibition halls.

Visiting Time

Open between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm (Lunch Hours : 1.30-2.30 pm).

The doors will open at 6.00 pm and close at 7.00 pm.

Please do not ring the bell before 6.00 pm and after 7.00 pm as it disturbs the performance.

Right of Admission Reserved.

Seating is based on first come first serve basis

Please carry personal ID with you for security reasons and for facilitating your entry.

These measures are being taken for your convenience.

No parking is available in the car park for the participants or visitors.

Code of Practice for Programmes

For Book Launches, Illustrated Talks, Films, Panel Discussions, Lectures, Music and Dance Programmes:

Written requests giving details of proposed event supported with photographs, audio video clips and CV of Artist/individuals participating to be submitted six months in advance for review and allotment of date.

All programmes to be scheduled only on week days. The Centre has the right to re-schedule an event on a holiday if required.

All participants must arrive at The Nehru Centre by 5.00 pm on the day of the programme to ensure all technical aspects are mutually understood by the technician and them.

In case of any exigencies, the Centre reserves the right to bring forward, postpone or cancel an exhibition already confirmed without any prior notice.

Book Launches:

(a) Since books are zero rated for duty purposes, sale by publishers, authors or by their representatives would be permitted on the day of the book launch only for the purpose of the book signing by the author.

(b) The Nehru Centre will not involve itself with the sale of books launched at the Centre.

(c) A copy of the book duly autographed by the author must be given to the Centre for its Archives.

(d) It is the responsibility of the publishers to identify a suitable discussant and to conduct the evening’s proceedings.

Films/Music:

No sale of DVD’s, CD’s and VCD’s is permitted on the Centre’s premises.

Reservation of the auditorium by the person is an acknowledgement of the acceptance of these terms and conditions.

It is also a mandatory requirement to return a signed copy of the acceptance of these terms and conditions before the reservation can be considered finalized.

In all matters, the decision of the Centre communicated by the staff on duty will be final. Right of admission to the Centre is reserved.

Code of Practice for Exhibitions

Galleries:

Bhairav – 7 mts. X 10.7 mts. Sarang – a little smaller than Bhairav

A written request along with pictures and press reviews of earlier exhibitions held to be sent at least six months in advance with a detailed description of the proposed exhibition.

Written confirmation stating works have been legally imported inconformity with the applicable laws, rules and regulations of the United Kingdom to be submitted.

The Nehru Centre is not party to any transaction in respect of the exhibited items on its premises.

Paintings should be properly framed and have the relevant captions properly typed.

One representative or the Artist must be present during the period of the exhibition to show visitors around.

The Centre will not be responsible for the following:

(a) Insurance or any other clearances required by the British Government.

(b) Storage/disposal of packing material, equipment or tools required to mount the exhibition.

(c) Any damage to the works on display during the exhibition.

(d) Clearing of consignment at the entry point in the United Kingdom.

Terms and Conditions:

Exhibitions will be mounted on Monday and inaugurated on Tuesday.

In case of any exigencies, the Centre reserves the right to bring forward, postpone or cancel an exhibition already confirmed without any prior notice.

Working hours are 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. On days when there is an event in the auditorium, the exhibition may be kept open till the event concludes.

No food and drink are allowed in the gallery during office hours.

For help, if required, towards mounting and dismantling of exhibition, the artists have to pay costs which will depend on the help and hours.

In case the Centre has to make available its galleries on a holiday, a contingency payment will have to be made in advance in accordance with prevalent norms and rules.

While an exhibition is displayed, the Centre continues to reserve the right to make use of the galleries for meetings during office hours.

Notes for the Artists

1. The canvas should have hooks/thread on the back for hanging.

2. TNC has only 21 panels on the walls of two rooms (wall-plan is attached).4-5 additional movable panels can also be made available on request.

3. The image of the self-locking-hook which is attached to each of the hanging nylon wire is given below (Perlon&Steel Cable-2mm) heavy duty, chrome finish. It can be adjusted by easy spring locking mechanism( maximum load 12 kg).

4. Description about the painting should be put in such a manner that it does not spoil the walls (Blue or white Tacs can not to be used).

5. The box containing the paintings should not be bigger than the following sizes and it should not weigh more than 30kg.

6. TNC will only provide general help in hanging the paintings. For profession assistance, services can be hired from outside for which a payments has to be made by the artist/ICCR.

7. The Information about all consignments should be addressed to the Mr. Sandeep, Office Assistant, The Nehru Centre at officeassistant@nehrucentre.org.uk . The text and photographs for the brochure and website should be approved two months in advance with Neelum Singh on neelum.singh@nehrucentre.org.uk.

8. Special Invitation/e-invites, if required, should be sent to TNC 6 weeks in advance for sending them to the TNC database.

9. In case of receptions, the artist should get in touch with Mrs Neelum Singh on neelum.singh@nehrucentre.org.uk.

10. Paintings should be packed in a re-packable bubble wrap as TNC does not have any packing facilities to repack the paintings.
