VACANCIES FOR THE POSTS OF CLERK AND STENO-TYPIST IN THE HIGH COMMISSION OF INDIA, LONDON
Applications are invited for position of the local post of Clerk and Steno-Typist in the High Commission of India, London. Graduates with working knowledge of computers and fluent in English are eligible to apply. The emoluments of the selected candidate will be in the payscale of £1050-10-1400 plus admissible Cost of Living Allowance. It is mandatory for all applicants to possess valid UK work permits if they are not UK nationals. 1)VOLUNTEER REQUIRED:
The Nehru Centre requires volunteers to cleanse and update the database. The role will be to cleanse an Excel database which will contain details from lots of people. You will need to have good ideas on how to make the spreadsheet easy to use and to make sure there are no duplicate entries. This role will also include enhancement of cultural related database. Advanced Excel experience is a must as we will just want you to get on with the job in hand without needing to be micro managed. 2) Introduction - Overseas Indian Youth Club (OIYC)
- An initiative of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA)
- Overseas Indian Diaspora youth in the age group of 18 – 30 to be its members
- Tenure of Office bearers of the OIYC to be not more than three years
- To begin with Mission may assist OIYC in nominating its officer bearers. Subsequently, the OIYC to select on its own.
- The OIYC will retain its secular nature at all times and to function under the umbrella of the High Commission
- OIYC may hold 3 – 4 meetings annually, especially, Government of India celebrations such as Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, etc.
- OIYC may engage in debates / discussions, propagation of Hindi language, essay competitions on popular current issues; cultural programmes; talk – shows on the TV channels to highlight developments in different sectors in India as witnessed by the OIYC members during their visits to India; socially relevant activities such as organising blood donation camps etc.; and other community activities in consultation with the Mission.
- Eminent local Indian speakers may be invited to address the OIYC.
- OIYC to provide an institutional mechanism to engage overseas Indian youth
- The High Commission to assist OIYC in arranging venue for the meetings / activities.
