Sangeeta Bahadur

Sangeeta Bahadur is an Indian Foreign Service officer of the 1987 batch, and is currently posted in London as Minister (Culture) in the High Commission of India and Director of The Nehru Centre. Her earlier postings include Spain, Bulgaria, Mexico and Belgium. She has also served in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi in various capacities, including as Deputy Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

The daughter of a senior Civil Servant, she was born in Kolkata and schooled in various cities around the country. She completed her college and university education from Mumbai, subsequently qualifying for the prestigious Indian Foreign Service. She is married to an Architect, and has two teenage daughters. She is a gifted, though eclectic, singer, as well as an author. Her first novel, Jaal, which is part of an epic fantasy trilogy called Kaal, was published by Pan Macmillan (India) in May 2012, and is already on the national bestsellers list.

Gowri Shankar

Gowri Shankar is an Under Secretary of the CSS Cadre (2003 batch ) currently posted in London, Second Secretary (Culture) in the High Commission of India and Deputy Director ,The Nehru Centre. He has served in several Ministries of the Government of India such as Defence, Information and Broadcasting, Tourism, Food Processing Industries, Civil Aviation, in various capacities. His postings abroad have been in HCI, London and in New York as Assistant Director, India Tourist Office. 

Besides English, Hindi, Telugu, he has also specialised in German from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has also undergone various Aviation Security Courses in Geneva, Montreal etc. He is a certified Instructor for Aviation Security and has participated in Aviation Security Training Workshop by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

Late Dr LM Singvi, Former High Commissioner of India, London , Mrs Shashi Tripathi, Consul General of India , New York, Sh. V. K Nambiar, Permanent Representative of India to United Nations , New York and Director Gen, Ministry of Tourism have commended the outstanding performances of Mr Shankar. Among his numerous other awards, PATA Chapters in Florida, Washington and New York lauded his efforts for promotion of Tourism of India.
