Music: Bhakti – The Musical
BHAKTI – THE MUSICAL is a theatrical musical creation inspired by the groundbreaking album Achha Hai (1995) by Maestro Somesh Kumar Mathur. The album presented a rich and original blend of Hindustani Classical Gayaki, Pop, Rock, Blues, Global Sounds, and New Age Bharat, set to Hindustani poetry, and paved the way for the contemporary Indian film industry pop sound.
The show draws from the classic 70s–80s Soul, Funk, Dance, and Global-World music styles, performed through poetry spanning Devotional, Sufi, Ghazal, Film, and Folk traditions. Maestro Somesh Kumar Mathur leads the performance, featuring eminent musicians and curated performances by actor-dancer-performer Priyaa. The musical promises to entertain and inspire, combining vibrant music and dance while celebrating the richness of Indian soundscapes.
