Coming from a culturally-rich family, Paulami was drawn towards the art of dance & music since childhood. Paulami took specialized training in Odissi dance under the tutelage of Guru Shri Srinath Raut, in Deba Prasad Das style & advanced training from renowned Guru Shri Hare Krishna Behera.
Paulami has presented Odissi recitals at several forums in different parts of the country and beyond the country’s border. She was also featured as an Odissi dancer in a television documentary film, ‘Dances of India’, that was directed by eminent dance exponents Padma Bhushan Raja and Radha Reddy. Paulami has also been imparting training in Odissi dance to young students at 'School of Performing & Fine Art'(SPFA), New Delhi. She has given remarkable performances abroad at Nehru Wangchuk Cultural Centre, Thimphu, Bhutan, University of Colombo & University of Visual & Performing Arts, Sri Lanka, Beijing Dance Academy, China, B.P. Koirala Foundation, Kathmandu, Nepal and The Nehru Centre, London, to name a few.
Apart from her dance assignments, Paulami is holding the position of Director, India International Rural Cultural Centre (IRCEN) & honorary position of Secretary, Centre for Cultural Studies & Development (CCSD), New Delhi. She has also to her credit, degree of Sangeet Prabhakar in Hindustani Vocal from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad.
Disciple of Guru Shri Srinath Raut & Guru Shri Hare Krishna Behera , Paulami Guha will present poetic compositions of Guru Rabindranath Tagore, Mahakavi Jayadeva & Poet Narsinh Mehta in Odissi dance style. Technical nritta aspect of traditional Odissi will also be presented in solo recital.
