The voice behind hit songs like “Nadia” (with Nitin Sawhney), “Khwaab” (with Niraj Chag) & “Jakatta American Dream” (#3 in UK main charts), Swati Natekar is a UK based renowned Indian Classical, Ghazal and World music singer, songwriter and composer. Swati is a daughter and disciple of renowned Hindustani Classical academic & scholar late Vidushi Dr. Smt. Sushila Pohankar. Born in an illustrious musical family, her music is also greatly influenced by her elder brother, eminent Classical vocalist Pt. Ajay Pohankar. Impressed by her talent at a young age, Swati was encouraged to pursue music by Sangeet Martand Pt. Jasraj ji.

Swati started her career at 16 by regularly performing at All India Radio. After shifting to U.K. she collaborated on several acclaimed albums while working with artists like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Craig Armstrong, Talvin Singh, Sonu Nigam & Muzaffer Ali. Apart from releasing her own albums, Swati has performed live at reputed international venues in Europe, Caribbean, South

Africa, Karachi and Nairobi. Swati’s voice has featured on a Hollywood Warner Brothers movie 'The In- Laws', and ‘The Republic Of Love’.

Swati sang on the theme song for Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010, specially recorded for BBC. She recorded, composed & sang a track from the famous “Geet Govind” couplet for the Queen’s gallery at Buckingham Palace, London. It has been an honour for Swati to represent UK & record the Bhajan “Vaishnav Jan To” for the celebration of 150th year of Gandhi Jayanti.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Swati will present a special collection of Gandhiji’s favourite Bhajans. She will be accompanied by Amar Sarl on Tabla and Siddhiie Kapshikarr on Harmonium.
