Established in 2001 by the visionary pianist and conductor late Neil Nongkynrih, the Shillong Chamber Choir (SCC) is a versatile 11-member chamber choir from Shillong, Meghalaya. From being a household name in ensemble singing for over two decades, renowned across the globe, they are known for their world-class versatility and depth. Their performances have taken them to the world’s biggest stages. Their overall repertoire includes songs in close to 40 different languages (regional and international), from opera to rock, folk to jazz, Hindustani classical to current chart toppers.

They have performed with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Fitzwilliam Quartet, and collaborated with icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Allan Walker, Boney M, Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and Usha Uthup to name a few.

Their 2011 Christmas album, featuring a blend of global musical elements—including Aramaic, Hebrew, Farsi, Urdu, Khasi, and Western harmonies—became India’s top-selling non-film album.
