This recital journeys into the sacred duality and unity of Shiva and Lalitha (Parvathi). Invoked separately, they kindle bhakti—the reverent surrender of the devotee. Shiva stands as the unmoving axis, destroyer of ignorance and silent flame of transcendence; Lalitha shines as the circling orbit, compassionate Mother and luminous glow of boundless love and adornment. Envisioned together, their presence flows between bhakti and śṛṅgāram—the tender longing of the beloved. He the depth of meditation, she the song that rises from it; he the stillness of renunciation, she the embrace of intimacy. In this union, their cosmic love radiates beyond themselves, lighting up the universe with balance and harmony.
Presented in the traditional margam, the programme becomes both offering and inquiry—honouring them in separateness and in union. Each movement traces a living conversation of tāla and rāga, axis and orbit, flame and glow—contrasts resolved into concord—while reflecting our own surrender, devotion, and love.
