Ahsan Ahmed Khan is a classical vocalist from the Agra Atrauli Gharana. He is the son of late Ustad Shamim Ahmed, the celebrated Sitar player of the Maihar Gharana. He has received his classical training from maternal grandfather Padmabhushan Ustad Khadim Hussain Khan Sahib, the legendary maestro of the Agra Atrauli Gharana. He has also studied vocal music from his Ustad Amanat Hussain Khan Sahab, the cousin brother of Ustad Khadim Hussain Khan Sahib.

Ahsan received the prestigious Surmani Award at the age of 22 and has performed at several acclaimed music conferences in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Agra, Aligarh, Bangalore, Baroda, Gulbarga Shareef, Miraj Shareef, Surat, Bhopal and many other towns and cities in India. He sang at the “Saptak Music Conference” at Ahmedabad in 2012. He was awarded with the prestigious “Pandit Omkarnath Thakur Award” in 2014 and also sang at the Sangeet Natak Akademi organized by Gujarat Govt. He was also part of the prestigious Sangeet Mahayagna Sammelan held for the 50th anniversary celebrations of India’s Independence. He is also a performing artist for All India Radio.

Besides his classical pursuit, Ahsan is amongt the foremost composers, reshaping popular Indian music to carry elements of our venerated Classical music. He has composed for established music companies such as Magnasound, Polygram, Tips, Music Curry and others and has also scored the music for several felicitated short films, documentaries and advertising shorts.

His album “Music and Soul” – a fusion album combining Classical Indian and Western symphony, for Underscore Music, has got rave reviews from both national and International audiences. Ahsan is gifted with a mellifluous voice and a mastery of his knowledge of music that leaves all his audiences enthralled.
