“Amrit” meaning nectar or essence which arises from music. Our ancestors who devised the systematic raga systems believed the music is a gift from the eternal. Human beings can experience rasa brava or emotions from music and arts. All living beings can respond to music.

Manickam Yogeswaran is a renowned singer of Indian music. He is a singer and composer whose performances and composing are based on the Southern branch of Indian music called “Carnatic Music”.

The evening will be a presentation of songs and ragas from both Northern and Southern Indian music. The repertoire of Yogeswaran is sourced from compositions in Carnatic music, Raga improvisation, poetries of Tagore, Saint Thirualluvar and Saint Arunagirinadar and many celebrated poets from the vast Indian sub-continent.
