Music: Carnatic Music – Musicology Evening by London International Arts Festival2025
A stimulating talk show that delves into the many layers, approaches, and viewpoints that shape the teaching and learning of South Indian Classical Music—widely known as Carnatic music.
Curated and hosted by Srikanth Sharma, Director of Dhruv Arts and a postgraduate in Carnatic Music, the session features a vibrant panel that includes UK-born students and teachers alongside senior educators from the Indian and Sri Lankan diaspora. Together, they will offer unique insights into the transmission of Carnatic traditions across vocal, veena, flute, violin, percussion, and musicology.
The discussion will further explore the changing landscape of music pedagogy, enriched by personal stories and experiences shared by the distinguished panellists. The evening concludes with a collaborative Carnatic music presentation.
