For International Women’s Week, PRS award-winning songwriter Saachi Sen presents a set of originals and popular music that explores multiple facets of how women are seen by society and themselves. The evening is grounded by her upcoming release ‘Dark’, recorded at Apple Music’s Platoon studios and semi-finalist in the International Song writing competition, which delves into her experience as a woman of colour. She is joined by accompanying musicians on a lyrical journey that promises to be thought-provoking, self-affirming, and beautiful.

Saachi Sen is an alternative pop singer songwriter born in India and raised in London. She is a past resident artist of Camden’s Roundhouse with acclaim from BBC Introducing, the ACTAs, Wonderland and more.

Kathy Ballard is a multi-instrumentalist from South-East London, with her talents including flute, piano, and vocals. She joins Saachi on the Cajon, a versatile percussion instrument.

Swati Sen holds a master’s degree in Ethnomusicology (South Asian Music and Culture) from SOAS university. While she was training in the vocal Khayal genre of Hindustani Classical Music Swati pursued her passion for singing Bollywood & Folk music. Her performance of a folk song from Gujarat won her the first prize at the competitive Watford festival of Music.
