Subrata De comes from a family where music is considered worship. His father, Shri Bhutnath De is a Hindustani vocalist who, at the age of 81, continues to teach music enthusiasts in Jamshedpur.

Subrata began learning Sitar from Shri Amarjeet Singh at age 7. Later he was under the tutelage of Late Shri Bauri Bandhu Sethi of Bhubaneswar, and he received guidance from Pt. Manilal Nag of the Bishnupur Gharana, where he mastered the Dhrupad, Gayaki, Tankaari, Alaapang, Gatkaari styles and established himself as an accomplished Sitar artist of the country.

Subrata has been a cultural ambassador to many countries and is a panellist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Festival of India Cell, Zonal Cultural Centres and Graded artist of All India Radio (AIR)

Subrata founded Swaranjali in 2000, an organisation dedicated to promotion of the arts and artists. He also has various albums to his credit. Meditation, Ganga Journey of Life, and Panchatatwa are among his known compositions. Created few new Raagas like Lata, Ataal, Shikhashree, Jogiya Ranjani, Jawahar, BhupMalap, Subhash.

A popular and reputed performing artist and a teacher, Saleel Tambe is well-known for Indian music and tabla accompaniment to established artists. Saleel has performed at major prestigious venues including the Southbank Centre, House of Commons, Victoria and Albert Hall, Waterman’s Arts Centre, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, India Now Festival and numerous other concerts.

He has also recorded numerous albums, as well as music for film and for the BBC.
