Zayn Mohammed is UK based award-winning jazz guitarist, multi-instrumentalist & composer & producer. Exposed to Indian & Turkish classical music from birth, he started playing flamenco guitar at the tender age of three, and by age ten Zayn was performing on live television nationally. Zayn received his BA and achievement awards from Berklee college of Music, where he was mentored by jazz greats such as Wayne Shorter and David Gilmore and has received lifelong mentorship from his spiritual uncle, jazz piano legend Ahmad Jamal. He is currently the guitarist for London based fusion group “True Think” led by award winning jazz pianist Robert Mitchell.

Zayn appeared on a television series ‘Guitar Competition’, which he won and was crowned Sky Arts Guitar Star 2016 by multiple Grammy award winning jazz great, George Benson. To date, Zayn has performed alongside artists such as Oleta Adams, Simon Shaheen, Lee Ritenour, Nitin Sawhney, Lianne La Havas, George Benson, and many more. Despite regular jazz performances and projects, in recent years Zayn is making a mark in the Sufi & World music scene, often treating listeners to rare, ancient instruments. He maintains an, albeit private, intense connection to the aspects of world music or Sufi music, in parallel to his contemporary musical life. When not scoring music for film, or teaching, Zayn continues to expand his musical horizons through constant exploration of jazz, folk, world, and spiritual music. Through his incorporation of those traditional sounds being blended into jazz, Zayn has discovered a unique & timeless voice in simultaneously reflecting both the modern, and the ancient. This combined with his proficiency on a plethora of exotic world instruments such as Turkish Rebab (the instrument played by Sufi Saint Mevlana Rumi), Oud, Sarod, Ney & Frame Drum, to name a few, are what sets Zayn apart as the enigmatic, one-of-a-kind artist of his generation.”
