Sukoon (meaning tranquillity) aims to take the audience through a melodious journey encompassing myriad songs, bound to touch your heart and soul. The concert promises to leave everyone enthralled and take them to an elevated state of mind through Urmi’s rendition of Ghazals, Sufis, Film Classics and not forgetting her much acclaimed originals.

Originally from India, Urmi Chakraborty has been living in London for over 16 years. While formally trained in Indian classical and semi-classical genre, under the tutelage of Padma Bhushan Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty, Urmi has been practising her art for over three decades. She has been fortunate to perform and collaborate with world renowned musicians like Pt. Birju Maharaj, Ustad Murad Ali Khan, Asha Bhosle just to name a few.

In the past couple of years, her original singles have been released by Sufi score and Bazm-e-Khas.

She has been collaborating with multiple musicians whilst recording more originals. As an artist who believes in inclusion and diversity through music, she founded “Aarohan Arts” in 2018 through which she attempts to teach and raise awareness amongst diverse age groups and ethnicity.
