Dance: Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and semi-classical dance
Taal Tarang 2026 is a dance production by Nritya Tales, a UK-based collective known for blending classical depth with contemporary expression. This work celebrates the richness and vitality of rhythm through a thoughtfully curated repertoire of taal-driven compositions and vibrant taranas. Drawing from the movement vocabularies of Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and semi-classical dance, the performance journeys through diverse rhythmic landscapes—capturing moments of precision, introspection, devotion, and joy, while showcasing the intricate interplay between music and movement.
The production is accompanied by live music, led by acclaimed vocalist Ms Tanusree Guha alongside an ensemble of accomplished musicians. Joining the music team is Deepabali Dutta, an accomplished singer from Kolkata, whose expressive artistry and nuanced musicality bring further depth and richness to the performance. Together, the artists create a dynamic dialogue between sound and movement, weaving intricate rhythmic patterns with evocative melodies and expressive storytelling. Through a seamless blend of nritta (pure dance) and abhinaya (expressive dance), Taal Tarang 2026 highlights the beauty, complexity, and emotional resonance of Indian classical traditions while presenting them in a form that is accessible and engaging for contemporary audiences.
With Taal Tarang 2026, Nritya Tales continues its commitment to celebrating and sharing Indian classical arts through innovative performance-making—offering audiences an immersive experience of rhythm, melody, and movement that transcends cultural boundaries and speaks to the universal language of artistic expression.
