A Tribute to the Late Girish Raghunath Karnad

The Jnanpith winner, Rhodes Scholar, master playwright, screenwriter, actor, director and an iconic personality in India's cultural landscape, Girish Karnad (19 May 1938-10 June 2019) was honoured with the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan, apart from four National Film Awards and a Sahitya Akademi honour. In a career spanning six decades, Karnad acted in Kannada, Hindi and Marathi films, in both mainstream and parallel cinema. He fearlessly raised his voice on varied socio-political issues.

To celebrate the life and works of the Late Mr Girish Karnad,The Nehru Centre in association with Vatayan:Poetry on South Bank has invited, some of his close friends and associates , who will briefly speak on his multifaceted personality, sharing their anecdotes . This will be accompanied by audio and video clips.
