Alfaaz aur Awaaz is a sincere endeavor to restore the lost glory of Ghazals.
This endeavor is led by an eminent Urdu poet -lyricist Ajay Sahab who is making a Herculean effort to pen Ghazals and songs which remind us of our golden era of music and songs .He is one of the most extensively sung poet of the modern generation whose creations have been sung by all the legends of modern music right from Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udhas, Anup Jalota ,Chandan Das , Suresh Wadekar ,Talat Aziz , Sudeep Banerjee , Rajesh Singh , Anuradha Paudwal to name a few.
It’s an enthralling experience to listen to the new stanzas and words added by him to the eternal songs of Indian cinema which blend so seamlessly with the old golden songs that one can’t even distinguish.
In this programme, he begins with beautiful and relevant introduction of the Ghazals and songs often narrating some interesting history about their creation coupled by poetry recitation. The effort is ably and effectively complimented by Rajesh Singh, a very gift ed singer of the classical tradition with a calm, soothing and mellifluous voice who is a natural composer. He has worked with legends like Nida Fazli and Shahriyaar, all his Ghazal compositions are original and fresh.
The event will be anchored by Tariq Faizi who gives a brief introduction about the efforts being taken to promote the composite culture of India through songs and Ghazals of Urdu, a language which is called Dukhtar E Gango Jaman Tahzeeb (daughter of the Ganga Jamuna culture).
