From the tender age of seven, Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan trained under the accomplished Guru Lalitha of Saraswati Gana Nilayam. She is the third generation (Guru-shishya parampara) disciple of the famous Guru Kattumannar Muthukumaram Pillai of Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. She has also undergone training in Carnatic Music under Shri Shankara Bhagavathar for ten years and was later mentored by Prof. P. Sambamoorthy at the Madras University.

Saroja Vaidyanathan is one of the India’s prominent Bharatanatyam exponents, earning her fame as an intelligent and innovative choreographer. In addition to several prestigious awards, she is the recipient of Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan from Government of India, Kalaimamani from Govt. of Tamil Nadu and Sangeet Natak Akademi award from Sangeet Natak Akademi , to name a few.

Along with her disciples, Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan will be presenting a traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire consisting of several dance pieces. The performance will be enacted by the various characters with enormous dexterity, crisp technical precision and expressive storytelling.
