Geetha Sridhar is a professional dancer, performer, tutor, and choreographer with a career spanning over 30 years. She is a traditional Bharatanatyam exponent from the renowned Kalakshetra School of art and dance.

Geetha’s vision and choreographic style has allowed her expertise to present this classical art form on a modern stage with a contemporary flourish.

Geetha is very actively involved as a teacher and choreographer in the UK and has nurtured young talent to a professional level through her dance company Natyasri. Of her recent accomplishments Geetha was invited to be the Artistic Director, choreographer, and performer at a historic event at the Wembley Stadium to welcome the Indian Prime Minster, Narendra Modi in 2015 and in Munich in 2022. In 2015, she was honoured with the prestigious ‘Rukmini Devi’ award by Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai. She was also a mentor and panellist for the South Asian strand of BBC Young Dancer in 2019, and recently a member of the esteemed judging panel in the 2022 series of the show. She is currently the resident Bharathanatyam faculty at the Nehru Centre in London.

Natyasri Dance Company will present ‘Avyanna’, an evening of classical Bharathanatyam in celebration of International Women’s Day. Pertaining to the title’s meaning- ‘strong woman’, this evening will take figures and feminists concepts from Hindu mythology. The curated items of the performance will portray the power of women in establishing the victory of good over evil.
