The documentary closely examines the effects of Partition on the people of the Pothohar region and how they were forced to flee their homes to the newly Independent India.
Over the years this community was able to re-build and started venturing abroad to different British colonies and then to the UK.
The documentary includes interviews with various personalities including eyewitnesses to the troubles during the Partition of India and activists who took a leading role in establishing Indian communities in London and around the UK.
Produced by the Pothohar Association UK which promotes the heritage and culture of people who were exiled from the Pothohar Region of West Punjab during the Partition of India in 1947 and is part of the Heritage Lottery Funded Rekindling Pothohar project.
The accompanying Rekindling Pothohar Exhibition had been produced in association with the Centre for Sikh and Panjabi Studies, University of Wolverhampton.
