Pt .Sujan Rane is a senior singer of the well-known Kirana Gharana popularised by the legendary Khansaheb Abdul Karim Khan a court-singer of the Maharaja of Baroda in the last century. Pt. Rane was trained initially by Pt.Govind Prabhu of Gwalior Gharana , followed by Pt.Rajarambuwa Jadhav of Kirana Gharana, Kolhapur .

Subsequently, Pt.Rane received sustained training for 35 years from Pt.Firoz Dastur a doyen of Kirana Gharana, Faculty member of Music Department of Bombay University for 40 years.

Pt. Rane has been teaching to propagate Hindustani Classical Vocal Music in U.S.A. and has brought out a book “Learning Hindustani Classical Vocal Music “published in U.S.A. He was invited to sing at Shikshayan Cultural Center, New York in 2013. He travels to India every Winter for recitals at reputed institutions and has performed at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, birth anniversary celebration of Founder Scientist Dr.Homi Bhabha in 2010,Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi annual concert in 2014 and its centenary celebrations in 2016. He has also sung at Upvan Music Festival, Mumbai 2016, sponsored by Times of India.

Pt. Rane will present popular Kirana Gharana classical compositions including Thumri and Bhajan .
