Born in a family of musicians, Pratik was initiated into the art of playing the Sarod at the age of six by his grandfather Pandit Rabi Chakraborty, an eminent player himself, of the Maihar Gharana.

Pratik then nurtured the art form under the tutelage of his uncle Dr.Rajeeb Chakraborty and Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar.

Pratik is known for his captivating renditions of Indian Classical ragas and for portraying Indian Classical Music in its purest form. Pratik wishes to take the audience on a journey to experience the unique sounds and essences of his beautiful instrument, and to walk the audience through the melodic gradient that is the format of any Indian Classical Instrument recital.

Pratik will be accompanied by Pandit Rajkumar Misra, one of the leading table players in the country and has received a fellowship in music from the leading Trinity College of Music, London and has collaborated with the monumental London Philharmonic Orchestra.
