India is a rich confluence of classical, folk and tribal dances, contributing to the colourful palette of culture and heritage. Sanskruti Centre in association with Sur Bharti brings a cultural landscape to the fore presenting some most interesting but lesser seen dances to the UK audiences such as Bagurumba dance of Assam, Gond dance of Telangana, Hozagiri dance of Tripura, Pawara adivasi dance of Maharashtra, Santhal dance of West Bengal, among other folk forms.
These dances have a distinct flavour and are unique to indigenous and tribal people of India. This Indradhanush (Rainbow) presents a visual poetry and an authentic picture of celebration of festivals, nature and culture by these groups, depicting the essence of their way of life.
Sanskruti Centre for Cultural Excellence has already presented folk and tribal dances such as Lambadi, Koli and Koya. Founded by World-Record recipient Ragasudha Vinjamuri, Sanskruti continues to research and present different folk arts, apart from providing training in Bharatanatyam and conducting workshops in different schools on the importance of dance and story-telling in Hindu Mythology.
Earlier this year, a special piece was created to mark the World Water Day celebrations at the House of Commons of British Parliament.
