Budhaditya Bhattacharya is an upcoming and promising talent in the field of raga music. Initiated into music at the age of 3 by his mother, he then trained with several gurus before finally coming under the tutelage of Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty in Calcutta. He is the recipient of the first prize at the 6th All India Classical Music Competition and has performed at various places in India and London. Budhaditya recorded his first album at the age of 8 and has two group albums to his credit.

On the academic front, Budhaditya is pursuing an MA in Music in Development at SOAS, University of London after completing his bachelors in International Relations from the University of London under the academic direction of the LSE. His research interests lie at the crossroads of music performance, religion, diaspora and historical ethnomusicology.
