Arpan to Goddess Durga is a special Indian Classical Vocal recital celebrating the spirit of Durga Puja, one of India’s most revered festivals. Rooted in the Hindustani classical tradition, the concert pays homage to the Divine Mother through music that embodies devotion, strength and grace.

The recital features Alick Sengupta, an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and All India Radio, alongside Adrija Basu, an artist of All India Radio and SPIC MACAY. They will be accompanied on tabla by Harsh Tamhankar, a distinguished senior disciple of Padma Shri Pandit Suresh Talwalkar and Avtar Singh, a UK-based classical musician, performer, educator, and researcher specialising in the Dilruba and Taus.

The artists will present Raag Durga, traditionally associated with auspiciousness and symbolic of the Durga Puja celebrations, along with a selection of classical bandishes and devotional compositions dedicated to Goddess Durga. Blending musical depth with spiritual expression, the recital reflects the rich heritage of Indian classical music while offering audiences an immersive experience of India’s devotional and cultural traditions.

This concert is an offering of music and devotion, celebrating the timeless bond between classical art and spiritual reverence.
