Dakshin is a presentation of one of the oldest classical art forms, Carnatic music from South India, the event will explore the various moods and philosophies through the ragas and the works of great composers, including the Trinity whose compositions form the bulk of Carnatic music. A short note about the compositions and the rhythmic complexities of the art form will be presented during the concert.
Dr.B.Vijayagopal is a State Awardee from the state of Tamil Nadu and has been performing concerts for over 30 years including special concert in front of the Hon’bl Prime Minister of India. He is an empanelled ICCR artist and has represented the country during classical concert tours organised by them. He is a gold medal winning facial surgeon who has taken to music full time after 7 years of medical practice.
Sri.Balu Raghuram is a sought-after Guru and performing Violinist who has over 40 years of concert experience and is a Guru and Mentor at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan London. He has shared the stage with the stalwarts of classical music over a long and thriving career.
Sri. M. Balachandar is a Mrudangist hailing from a long lineage of musicians and has performed in over 25 countries for both Carnatic and Hindustani concerts. A resident Mrudangam teacher at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, he is a renowned Guru and a performing artist.
