Sangeeta Lahiri Srivastava was introduced to the world of music by her mother, the late Manashi Lahiri, at an early age. She began her formal training in Hindustani classical music under the guidance of the late Achinta Kumar Sen from Dhanbad. Upon moving to Delhi, Sangeeta con-tinued her musical education under Padmashree Sumitra Guha. Her desire to explore various fac-ets of music led her to study dhrupad with the legendary Zia Fariduddin Dagar.
In addition to dhrupad, Sangeeta expanded her expertise by learning the Delhi gharana style under Vidushi Mallika Banerjee and training in semi-classical music under Vidushi Parul Banerjee. Currently, she is further honing her skills under the tutelage of Vidushi Chandra Chakravorty.
Throughout her musical journey, Sangeeta has achieved both a master’s degree in music and a diploma. Her talent has been showcased in several performances, including at the Delhi Habitat Centre and in films such as "Turup" and the short movie "Weekend Birthday." She has also performed a jugalbandi of recitation and classical music at the Kamani Auditorium in Delhi and participated in musicals under Vidushi Chandra Chakravorty's direction in the UK.
