The voice behind hit songs like Nadia (with Nitin Sawhney), Khwaab (with Niraj Chag) & Jakatta American Dream (#3 in UK main charts), Smt. Swati Natekar is a daughter & disciple of late Musicologist & Scholar Vidushi Dr. Smt. Sushila Pohankar. She is a UK based renowned Indian Classical, Ghazal and World music singer, songwriter, and composer, who is also known for her collaborations with Ustad Zakir Hussain, Craig Armstrong, Talvin Singh, Sonu Nigam & Muzaffer Ali. Swati has released several acclaimed albums and has performed internationally at reputed international venues. She also sang the theme song for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010, specially recorded for BBC. Swati has recorded, composed & sung a track from the famous” Geet Govind” couplet for the Queen’s gallery at Buckingham Palace, London.She has represented U.K. for the Bapu@150 celebration.
On the eve of India’s Independence Day, Swati is going to present a very special concert. “Geet Ganga”. This beautiful theme will project the richness and variety of music within India, comprising various singing styles including Classical, Thumri, Bhajan, Folk, and patriotic song.
She will be accompanied by the amazing UK based artists, Sunil Jadhav (Keyboard), Manjeet Rasiya (Tabla) and Siddhiie Kapshikarr (Harmonium).
