Sanjukta Mitra was born and brought up in Kolkata, India. Music has been her passion since a very young age. She got introduced to Hindustani classical music when she was 8 years old under the tutelage of her first music teacher, Mrs. Seema Ghosh. Subsequently, she trained under the auspices of her Guruji, Pandit Santanu Bandopadhyay of Bishnupur Gharana.
Sanjukta has performed in several platforms in the UK, Europe, and India. Alongside showcasing pure classical she also takes her musical journey to fuse with Western forms of classical, semi classical and folk to reach music lovers of a wider range. She is recently collaborating with Cambridgeshire Music to evolve her music. Sanjukta trains students of diverse ages and backgrounds. She is the sole torchbearer of Bishnupur Gharana (the only Bengal Gharana) in the UK.
She has received numerous musical Awards and achievements, namely the Sangeet Visarad -Pracheen Kala Kendra, Sangeet Prabhakar & Allahabad Prayag Sangeet Samity.
