Devaki Thomas & Tirthi Patnaik are students of Srimati Urbi Basu, a disciple of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra and the resident Odissi Dance Teacher at The Bhavan London.
This recital will feature items from the traditional Odissi repertoire in duet and solo combinations.
Devaki is a Performing/Recording Artist & Educator, Arts Marketer/Events Producer hailing from Canada; studying Odissi since the age of 5 under Ratna Roy in Seattle and Bharatanatyam since 14, under Nimi Bali and Alka Goyal in Vancouver. She has been studying with Urbi Basu for over 6 years, receiving her diploma in Odissi dance under her at The Bhavan in 2015.
Tirthi started dance training at the age of 7 studying Odissi, Bharatnatyam & Kuchipudi. She trained in Bharatnatyam & Odissi under Guru Chandrabanu in Australia and since 2012 studies Odissi under Guru Urbi Basu performing across London and Geneva.
