An old mother waiting for her son to come and visit her. An elderly father waiting for someone in his family to spare time and talk to him as he is not able to move out and about as much, he has sadly lost his partner and most of his friends.
In both these situations the protagonists are happy and grateful for a life well lived yet they live with a resigned acceptance of feeling lonely and it is beginning to impact their emotional, mental, and physical health.
#EldersTheyMatter, a global awareness campaign will touch upon this, and many other challenges faced by the growing ageing population of our Indian diaspora across the globe as we adopt different countries as our home.
