Usha Venkataraman is a TEDx Speaker, performance storyteller, puppeteer, author, and classical vocalist who envisions the iconic characters of the Ramayana alive through her puppets.

Hanuman’s Ramayan is Devdutt Pattanaik’s retelling of the popular myth. The epic Ramayan was not only written by Sage Valmiki, but also by the legendary Vayuputra, Hanuman. As Valmiki reads through Hanuman’s story, the entire Ramayana unfolds in front of his eyes. Valmiki sees it through Hanuman’s compassionate eyes, bringing in a new perspective. It’s refreshing ending adds emotional appeal to the enduring myth.

A versatile teller with a wide repertoire of folk, traditional, literary, and beguiling mythical tales, Usha adapts her craft to suit young and older audience, sometimes using other arts like puppetry, dance, and music.
