The Bengal Heritage Foundation (BHF) will commemorate Rabindra Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Bengal’s greatest poet, song-writer, and philosopher, Rabindranath Tagore.

Rabindra Jayanti is an annually celebrated cultural festival, prevalent among Bengalis around the world, in the remembrance of Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday anniversary .It is celebrated in early May, on the 25th day of the Bengali month of Boishakh, since Tagore was born on this day of the year 1861. The day is celebrated with songs (Rabindra Sangeet), poetries, dances and dramas, written and composed by Tagore.

This event will present solo and chorus Rabindrasangeet performances accompanied by live music and an adaption of his works “Tagore’s Women”, known vividly for his vast collection of poems, prose, plays, stories and novels, Tagore put women in the forefront in his works to convey feminism very strongly

The performances will be led by accomplished UK-based singers, dancers, and actors who have performed on stage at several venues in the UK and in India:
Tanusree Guha – renowned Rabindra-sangeet exponent who launched her solo album and performed live on radio and TV in India, and in events in Europe and England.
Bidisha Datta – accomplished dancer who has performed at various UK events including the Bloomsbury Festival.
Koushik Chatterjee – a talented actor who has performed on stage as well as in multiple acclaimed Bengali.
