Chandrashekar Phanse has an MA with Sitar from the statutory University, IKSVV (Khairagad, India). He has been performing since past 3 decades. His repertoire includes playing traditional raagas on the authentic Sitar, taking care to maintain the purity of the raag. His forte is to render compositions on various rare taals.
More recently, he has been involved with themed programs such as Shruti Sangam, an amalgamation of Hindustani and Carnatic music, Raag Anokhe, concert of exceptional raagas and the Trinity-sitar concertos of performing 3 different raagas in the same scale.
An Odyssey of Strings is the venture of music from Vedic chants to the music of the future.
He has presented semi classical and light music concerts which include wonderful songs from Hindi and Marathi films. Chandrashekar Phanse also plays the Surbahaar.
