Kabir is a timeless mystic who didn’t believe in boundaries. His philosophy rings true even six centuries later, and they are being woven into something just as boundless, music, by Neeraj Arya's Kabir Café.

Performing only the verses of Kabir, the band brings alive his poetic works in a substrate of Indian Folk Music infused with rock, pop, reggae, carnatic and fusion in their quest to make Kabir’s verses comprehensible to the rest of the world that is alienated from traditional Kabir folk music.

Neeraj Arya’s Kabir Cafe has Neeraj Arya on vocals and rhythm guitars, Mukund Ramaswamy on violin, Raman Iyer on Mandolin, Viren Solanki on Percussions and Poubuanpou Britto KC on bass guitar and backing vocals featuring forthright compositions, in a musically interesting fashion without compromising its lyrical beauty.

Having done over 800 performances across India, the band recently released their debut album ‘Panchrang –Musical Echoes of Kabir’, which has 12 of their most colourful renditions of Kabir.

Their song Fakiri got featured in the Bollywood Movie, Hindi Medium. Hoshiyar Rehna, another song was released in the soundtrack of the latest Bollywood movie Badshaho.

They got empanelled into the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) in May 2017 .They have also toured abroad - Singapore, Thailand, Nepal, Dubai, Israel, UK, USA, Zimbabwe and Egypt.

“A café is a place where everybody is welcome to come sit, relax and have a good conversation, while dissolving their differences and losing themselves to the moment. Kabir’s philosophy was about inclusiveness and true acceptance. Kabir Café’s music embodies that spirit,” maintain the band members.
