Talk: The Indian Yogic Dietary System: Reinterpreting Āhāra, Yoga and Health for Contemporary Life
The Indian Yogic Dietary System: Reinterpreting Āhāra, Yoga and Health for Contemporary Life Technology is evolving, lifestyles are changing, and our minds are constantly stimulated. Yet, our fundamental needs remain deeply connected to nature, rhythm, nourishment, movement and consciousness.
This interactive lecture introduces the Indian Yogic Dietary System (IYDS), an integrative approach rooted in Indian knowledge traditions that brings together food, lifestyle, conduct, thought, values and spirituality. Moving beyond nutrients and dietary prescriptions, it explores the interplay of food, mind, daily rhythms, eating behaviour, interpersonal relationships and inner awareness. It examines how Yoga and Ayurveda can contribute to a broader understanding of wellbeing alongside modern nutrition science, offering practical approaches for everyday life.
